Callum Davidson aged 12 has been found safe and well after a member of the public spotted him after reading the appeal.  He had gone missing during a week-long activity camp in Dukes House Wood near to Gallows Bank in Hexham.

Police began an urgent search at 5.15pm today, Callum went missing after an argument with another child at the camp and was seen by other children going in the direction of the woods with his backpack at 3.15pm.

Officers had been searching nearby woodland, the camp site itself and nearby roads and then shared a social media appeal.

Thankfully a member of the public who read the appeal online called Northumbria Police and said they had spotted Callum.

Thanks for everyone who helped and shared the appeal.
