Emergency services attended a major blaze at a primary school in Hartlepool, Police shut several roads in the area to allow firefighters to tackle the blaze.
It is believed the fire started in the nursery area of the building, Fire crews managed to stop the fire spreading to the main School.

The school will be closed tomorrow for everyone except year six students, who are due to sit their Sats Tests this week.

Six Fire engines responded to the incident from all over the Teesside area including Middlesbrough and Thornaby.
When crews arrived the building was well alight and the priority was to prevent the fire from spreading.

It is believed the fire started at 6pm on Sunday 7th May and remained at the scene for a number of hours. The Nursery has been completely destroyed.

local residents were being advised to keep their doors and windows closed, as thick smoke was billowing from the blaze.
Anyone who may have any information or witnessed anything leading up to the fire is requested to call Cleveland police on 101.
