A Cleveland Police officer has been injured after a man pulled a knife on him during a routine policing incident.
Officers were called to the Spar Store on King Oswy Drive Hartlepool at 6.45pm on Saturday night to reports that a man was drinking a bottle of wine in the store was causing a disturbance.
When police arrived the man produced a knife and cut an officers forearm.
An eyewitness has told Police Hour that they heard shouting and screaming and then a lot of police units arrived.
Police had to use a taser and the 36-year- old local man was arrested
He remains in police custody.
