Storm Doris has claimed the life of a woman with eye witnesses saying she was ‘hit by something resembling a piece of the roof’.

The woman believed to be aged 20 to 30 was killed when something fell off a nearby roof in Wolverhampton City Centre.

West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed they had received 15 999 calls reporting a woman had been hit by a falling object.

Sadly the woman who has not been named was confirmed dead at the scene after suffering ‘a very serious head injury’.

West Midlands Police confirmed officers were alerted to the serious incident in Dudley Street at around 11.50am.
