Shocking details have emerged of two friends who filmed themselves beating a man with learning difficulties to death. they demanded he ‘smile for the camera’ as they murdered him.
Joshua Hack aged 21 and Keith Lowe aged 22 lead Brendan Matthews who suffered learning difficulties to a park making him believe they wanted to spend time with him. Little did he know they were leading him to his death.
They arrived at a location within the park and they hung him from a tree each of them took it in turns to hit him while the other held him in place for several hours.
They taunted and laughed at him until the early hours of the morning in July 5th 2016.
During the graphic and harrowing ordeal, Bredan fell unconscious. At this stage, they stripped him naked and threw his body into a pond. They left him for dead within Abbey Park, Leicester.
At 7.40am groundsmen found Mr Mason naked, unconscious and bleeding he was airlifted to Walsgrave Hospital in Coventry.
He was found to have 99 separate injuries to his head and body, they’d left him brain damaged, with broken ribs and a collapsed lung. Hours later he died.
Hack and Leys both admitted the murder however as it reached court they denied the murder.
Four days into the trail they changed their plea to guilty after cops produced video evidence that they had deleted from the phone which recorded the incident.
Hack and Lowe will be sentenced tomorrow at Leicester Crown Court.
