A girl aged 10 has been approached by a stranger in what police have described as a suspicious incident.

Officer’s say the youngster was approached on The Avenue, in Nunthorpe, Middlesbrough, at around 4pm on Wednesday.

The man briefly spoke to the school girl before making off on foot.

He is described as a white male, around 5ft 8” tall, of medium build, in his late 30s, with a bald head and stubble.

He had a tattoo on his right forearm of a woman’s face with a red background.

He was wearing a black T-shirt and dark grey bottoms and was carrying a mobile phone.
