An urgent food recall has been issued on Lidl gravy because it has a harmful paint thinner chemical within it.
They have now recalled Kania Gravy Granules because it has Xylene within it that poses a health risk the Food Standards Agency has confirmed.
‘The contaminant levels in this product exceed those set to minimise this risk and the product is therefore being recalled as a precaution.’
The products affected are 300g packets of Kania Gravy Granules for meat and chicken with best before dates of October and November 2017. No other batches are thought to be affected.
Customers are urged to return the product if they have bought one for a full refund.
No advice has been issued for anyone who has consumed the product.
