The Police Federation has revealed that police morale is at an all-time low, Over 45,000 officers in England and Wales were quizzed about pay and morale.

The Police Fed found that 31,500 Police Officer ‘Would’ never encourage anyone to join the job.

Further finding revealed that 56 percent of police officers quizzed morale was at rock bottom.

16 percent revealed they were actively looking to leave the job within the next few years.

 

Low morale within the police is believed to be focused around the way officers are being treated while conducting their day-to-day work.

84 Percent of the officers quizzed revealed that they did not believe they were treated with respect from the public while 70 percent did not believe the pay is enough for the dangerous job they do.

The pressures of Police budget cuts are really starting to set in as the strain is felt from the officers on the ground to do more with less.
