A man and woman have been charged with attempted murder of a Police Officer.

The officer who was undercover when he was stabbed was on an operation in east London on Tuesday.

Police have charged Andrew Beadie, 20, and Janine Morris, 34, they were also charged with affray in connection with the incident.

The police officer who was stabbed in an alleyway near a pub in Bow remains in hospital.

Scotland Yard has said ” The officer, who was in plain clothes when he was deployed on the planned operation, received non life-threatening injuries in the attack.

“Beadie, of Basildon, Essex, and Morris of Bow, East London, who was a lso charged with assisting an offender, will both appear in custody at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

“A 17-year-old boy who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder was bailed until a date in late January.”
