Off-duty police officer slashed with knife at HMV store in Leeds

An off-duty police officer received injuries to his neck, face and hand after being slashed with a knife as he tried to stop a suspected shoplifter at a HMV store in Leeds town centre this morning.

A 36-year-old local man, has been arrested in connection with the attack.

The officer, from West Yorkshire Police force, was taken to hospital and later released after receiving treatment.
