Police are investigating a fail to stop collision are appealing for witnesses to come forward. The incident happened in Hither Green Lane, Lewisham and involved a Honda motorbike  at 20:04hrs on Wednesday, 19 October.

When the London Ambulance Service arrived they found a 23-year-old motorcyclist who was laid on the ground, He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. He still remains in Hospital today (November 10th).

His condition is described as a critical but stable condition. A silver Volkswagen was found abandoned at the scene. There was damage to the front of the vehicle, including a shattered windscreen.

The occupant or occupants of the vehicle had made off from the scene before police arrived.

Officers are urging any witnesses to come forward, or anyone else who has information that could help their enquiries.

Detective Constable Victoria Yusuf, the investigating officer from Lewisham’s Major Crime Unit, said: “A young man is in hospital fighting for his life as a result of this serious collision. I would appeal to those who were in the Volkswagen that evening to search their conscience and come forward to tell us what happened that night.

“We are also very keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, or thinks they may have seen the silver Volkswagen or the black Honda motorbike earlier that evening.”
