Gorilla on the loose in London Zoo Police search Regent’s Park

Police are currently involved in a search for a Gorilla on the loose.

Visitors to London Zoo say they have been locked inside attraction.
The zoo have confirmed they are managing an ongoing incident at London Zoo.

Armed police are currently at the Zoo walking through the ground.

Scotland Yard said in a statement it was called to the zoo, in Regent’s Park, just after three o’clock this afternoon.
The statement said: “We were called at 1515 by security to an ongoing incident [at the zoo].

“We are still down there providing support to staff.”

Police have since confirmed that the Gorilla has since been captured and no members of the public were harmed.

The Gorilla has been returned to an area of safety.
