Police have confirmed that Bomb disposal experts are on the way to Teesport after reports of a “suspicious package”.
Cleveland Police received the report that a package was found on a vessel at Teesport at 1.33pm today.

Explosive Ordinance Disposal teams are in attendance and the public are being urged to avoid the area until further notice.

Cleveland Police confirmed that they were dealing with an incident involving a Suspicious package “Police received a report of a suspicious package on a vessel at Teesport at 1.33pm today, enquiries are continuing to ascertain the legitimacy of the package and whether it poses any risk. EOD are in attendance”

Police have requested that the public should avoid the area until further notice. An update will be given when further information is established.
