Police have launched an appeal after a woman was grabbed and pulled towards a car as she was walking in a Northampton Street.

Officers have launched an investigation and are treating it as an attempted abduction in Northampton.

Police Hour understands that the woman was listening to music in her headphones while she was walking along Birchfield Road, East, Abington between 2.30pm and 4.30pm on Friday.

A Red Volkswagen polo approached her as it began honking it’s horn to grab her attention before it pulled over along side her.

The man in the car requested directions he quickly grabbed the victim’s right arm and attempted to pull her towards the vehicle. She managed to pull away and ran off from the scene.

The suspect was white, of medium build and aged in his mid-40s with an English accent. He had messy brown hair.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Northamptonshire Police on 101. Alternatively, they can call independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
