Four men surround man in Hartlepool Robbery

Police are appealing for information after a 43-year-old man was robbed in the area of Morton Street and Straker Street in Hartlepool.

The incident occurred on Sunday 28th August (Bank Holiday Sunday) at around 2:15pm when the victim was walking alone near a disused basketball court.

He was surrounded by four men on pedal bikes who then assaulted the victim and stole his iPhone 5c and money from his pocket.

After the attack the men made off in the direction of Derwent Street.

The first man is described as a white male, around 6 ft 1” tall, of heavy build with short, brown hair and around 26 to 34 years old. He was wearing a brown Adidas tracksuit top and New Balance trainers and was riding a black pedal bike.

The second man is described as a white male, 5 ft 9” tall and around 38 years old. He was of thin build with mousey brown hair, stubble and a moustache and he possibly walked with a limp. He was wearing a black jumper and grey Nike tracksuit bottoms and was riding an orange frame mountain bike.

The third man is described as a white male, around 6 ft 3“ tall, of scruffy appearance with fair, medium length hair and aged around 35 years old.

The fourth man is described as a white man, around 5 ft 6” tall, of scruffy appearance with short, black hair. He is thought to be around 31 years old and was wearing black clothing.

The victim suffered swelling and a cut to his eye and ear and he was treated at the One Life Centre in Hartlepool.

A19 closed northbound near hartlepool drivers advised to find another route

Police were called to reports of a traffic incident involving one vehicle on the northbound side of the A19 near Hartlepool at about 2:40pm today (Thursday).

The northbound carriageway has been closed at the A179 junction to allow access for the Great North Air Ambulance.

The male driver has been taken to Hartlepool General Hospital with serious injuries.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and find an alternative route.

North East hit by a blanket of snow many major routes covered

Motorists are bring urged to take extra care across the North East as many major routes have been covered.

Heavy snow fall and strong winds have left the A1, A19, A66 & A1M covered in snow.

While many major routes in towns and cities have also been covered leaving many roads difficult to navigate.

Gritting across many areas has failed as the snow has created air pockets allowing the snow to rest on top.

Snow began falling at 11pm last night and is expected to continue until 9am this morning.

A number of schools, colleges and Universities are expected to announce they could be closed for the day. Make sure you check ahead before traveling.

Missing

Missing Guardsman with the Scots Guards based at the Wellington Barracks

Police are urgently searching for a missing Guardsman who is missing from his central London barracks.

Dean Rudman was last seen at around 21:40hrs on Tuesday, 9 January, leaving the All Bar One pub in Waterloo. He is believed to have travelled to Guildford by train.

He is a Guardsman with the Scots Guards, normally based at Wellington Barracks in Westminster. He is believed to have links to Canterbury and Durham.

Dean is from the North East and has many friends in Newcastle and Middlesbrough.

He is described as white of slim build with dark hair, and a moustache. When last seen, he was wearing dark trousers and a dark jacket.

Dean’s family, friends and colleagues are very concerned by his disappearance, which is described as out of character.

He may be in the company of a female, described as white of slim build with long highlighted hair.
