A man and woman have been arrested on suspicion of murdering a 13 week old baby boy.

Northumbria Police launched a murder investigation after the death of the baby boy in Newcastle.

The baby was taken to hospital a house in Melville Court, Kingston on Friday however was he later died having suffered serious injuries.


Police say that there initial investigation suggests that the baby has suffered none-accidental injuries and the death is being treat as murder.

Officers have arrested a 34-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman on suspicion of murder.

They both remain in police custody.
