A drone and a passenger plane approaching Newquay airport have been involved in a near-miss collision.

Sparking a police response to locate the person responsible for flying the drone.

The situation has been described as “Reckless” by police when the drone nearly hit the Flybe plane that was carrying 62 people from  London Stansted was two miles from Newquay airport and flying at approximately 900 feet.

Police immediately responded to the incident and conducted a search of the area. They were unable to locate the drone or its operator.

Police are counting to investigate the matter and are warning drone flyers not to fly near airports or in flight paths.
