Woman subjected to Attempted robbery In Hartlepool

Police are appealing for information after a 29-year-old woman was victim to an attempted robbery as she walked along Murray Street in Hartlepool.

The incident occurred at around 9:45pm on Saturday 25th June as the victim walked along Murray Street in Hartlepool in the direction of Victoria Road. The victim saw three young males running towards her.

Two of them ran past her and one of them, who was carrying a yellow scaffolding type tube, attempted to grab her phone.

When the victim wouldn’t hand over her phone, the male hit the victim in the arm with the yellow object he was carrying and ran off towards Victoria Road.

The victim received treatment at the One Life Centre in Hartlepool for minor injuries.

The suspect is described as a young male, with a tanned or dark complexion and he was wearing a dark coloured hooded top with the hood up.
