Paedophile Peter Gibson died after being left alone while vomiting blood an inquest has heard.

Gibson 68, formerly of Bowburn and Middlesborough was serving 13 years for raping a child

He began coughing blood in the canteen of HMP Frankland was was taken to the hospital wing for treatment.

He waited hours for an ambulance and no health care assistants checked him.

G4S;says it has revised systems at the prison.

Gibson had served two years of a 13-year prison offence for four counts of rape rape and 15 child sex offences against two young girls in the 90s, according the Chronicle.

In 1998 he was given a six-year sentence for child rape.
