A man has been airlifted to James Cook University Hospital after being stabbed following a disturbance in Belk Street and Raby Road in Hartlepool. 

Armed officers deployed to the scene to support local officers as they are trained to deal with basic trauma and offer enhanced first aid. 

Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “We received a call about an incident at 2.55pm and following a search of the area a 25-year-old man was located and had suffered a stab wound.

“He was taken to Middlesbrough’s James Cook University Hospital for treatment to his injury.”
