A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a woman.
Police were called by staff at a north London hospital at approximately 03:00hrs on Thursday, 30 June after a woman had been admitted there suffering injuries.
The woman, aged 33, subsequently died in hospital at 10:15hrs.
Next of kin have been informed. Formal identification will take place in due course.
A post-mortem examination commenced on Friday, 1 July at St Pancras Mortuary.
As part of the investigation officers attended an address in Malden Road, NW5 this is where the injured woman was taken to hospital from.
An incident room has opened under Detective Chief Inspector Gary Holmes of the Homicide and Major Crime Command based at Barking.
DCI Holmes said: “We retain an open mind at this stage of the investigation but our primary aim is to establish how the victim came to receive the injuries which led to her death.”
A 76-year-old man [A] and a 34-year-old woman [B] have been arrested on suspicion of murder; both remain in custody at north London police stations.
