Detectives investigating a rape in Bournemouth are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward.
Officers found a man lying unconscious in an alleyway between Manor Road and Monkey Island at around 6.40pm this evening, Friday 3 June 2016.
When the victim, who is aged in his 30s, regained consciousness he disclosed to officers that he had been raped.
An investigation is now underway and the victim is being supported by specially-trained officers.
The offender is described as a white man, around 35 years old, with blond hair and of medium build. He was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms, a black hooded top and spoke with a Newcastle accent. He was also carrying a black rucksack.
Detective Sergeant Katie Starkie, of Bournemouth CID, said: “I know the surrounding area will have been busy at the time and I am appealing to anyone who may have seen the incident or saw anything suspicious to please contact me.
“A cordon is currently in place to allow officers to carry out investigations.
“I would like to reassure the public that incidents like this are rare and high visibility patrols will continue in the area.”
No arrests have been made.
