A police officer has been seriously injured after being crushed between his police vehicle and a van this afternoon. 
Kent Police say they would like to hear from any witnesses to the incident in Lullingstone Avenue which happened around 3:30pm today.

While serious, the officer’s injuries are not believed to be life threatening. 

Police say that a man has been arrested and enquires are on-going.

An air ambulance landed at nearby Bonney Way.
A police helicopter is believed to be searching for a second person.

Any witnesses are being asked to call 101, quoting 23-0876.
