On going incident involving coastguard, police and mountain rescue In Horden

Emergency Services searched Horden Beach and Cliffs as part of an ongoing search for missing Gareth Palfrey who has been missing since Tuesday June 28th.

Emergency services searched an area near Horden beach along with Mountain Rescue teams.

Police had requested the support from Mountain Rescue and the Coastguard.

Mountain rescue quickly set up incident command station close to the beach while members of the mountain rescue searched the beach and cliffs at Horden.

Mountain rescue teams re-join the command and have a look at maps of the area.

Police air support unit stayed within the area for over an hour searching the area.

Mr Palfrey is described as white, with short dark brown hair and brown eyes. When he was last seen he was wearing a grey hooded top, dark trousers and orange Nike Air Max trainers.

Officers are concerned for Mr Palfrey’s welfare and would ask that anyone with information about his whereabouts contacts 101 as a matter of urgency.
