A man has been arrested in London this morning, Wednesday, 29 June on suspicion of inciting racial hatred.
The 44-year-old man, who is from London, was arrested at approximately 06.30hrs as part of a pre-planned operation in north London by officers from the Crime Disruption Unit within the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command.
They were supported by colleagues from the Territorial Support Group.
Detectives executed search warrants at two addresses, both in north London, as part of this investigation, which relates to social media postings of an extreme right wing, Islamophobic and anti-Semitic nature.
Searches at one of the addresses are ongoing. A number of digital items have been seized at one of the properties.
The arrested man was taken into custody at a north London police station where he was later pending to return on a date in late August pending further enquiries.
Officers are not providing further details at this stage for operational reasons.
