Police are appealing for information after a six year old boy was injured in a collision in Newcastle.

The incidet happened around 7pmlast night in Naworth Drive in West Denton. The boy was knocked over by a taxi.

The boy was taken to hospital fortreatment to his injuries which are not thought to be life-treatening.

The driver of the taxi stopped andspoke to the boys father but left the scene before police arrived and did not leave any details.

Officers are carrying out enquiries into the collision and are keen for the driver to get in contact with them.

The driver, or any witnesses to the collision are asked to contact Northumbria Police on 101 quoting reference929 090416.
