Officers on routine patrol in Harrow were flagged down by the driver of a van in Kenton Road, Harrow at around 13:30hrs on Monday, 28 March.
The officers stopped to offer assistance and found that the passenger in the van was a woman, who was in labour.
Two male police constables assisted with the delivery of a baby boy into a Metropolitan Police fleece.

London Ambulance Service were called, and they took mother and baby Alex to a north-west London hospital.
