A young woman has had her faced slashed on Oakside Drive, Peterlee as she answered her front door.

Vicky Bowes called her dad asking for help after someone had slashed her face.

Her father kevin Bowes has said “She was in bed got knock on door and went down and answered it , when she opened the door the bastard slashed her face and ran off”

The man is described as approx 5ft 8″ to 5ft 10″ dressed with a dark navy or black hoodie, dark grey joggers and white trainers.

Durham Constabulary are now investigating the incident.
