Armed police have responded to a hostage situation at Bella Italia restaurant in London’s Leicester Square.
A man is believed to be in possession of a knife and is holding one woman hostage.
Police are advising people within the area to stay indoors.

Met Police have confirmed a hostage situation occurred.
“A male who is intimating he has got a knife is holding a woman against her will.
“Two other people are inside the venue and we are on the scene seeking to engage with him. It is not terror-related.”
The incident at a restaurant in Irving Street has now been resolved and a man has been detained by police. No reported injuries.
