It has been confirmed a grandmother who claimed her lotto ticket was badly damaged in a washing machine has been arrested.

Susanne Hinte, from Warndon, Worcester, attempted to claim £33m National Lottery jackpot is now facing a criminal trial it has emerged.

Hinte is already at court accused of stealing a purse and an Xbox controller.

She attempted to make a claim on a Lotto ticket with the winning numbers that was badly damaged in a washing machine.
