Northumbria Police have sadly confirmed they have found a body in the search for a missing man from North Tyneside.

Police confirmed the news that a body has been found in the search for missing 91-year-old Robert Dodd. 

The Coastguard had informed police abody has been found near Spanish Battery. 

The body has yet to be formally identified however the family of Robert Dodd have been informed.

Northumbria Police had been appealing for the public’shelp to trace a missing 91-year-old North Tyneside man.

Robert Dodd, who is 91 and from Tynemouth, was reported missing this earlier evening (Wednesday, January 13).

He is also known as Bob.
He is described as 5 ft 10 inches tall,with grey hair and a beard. He was wearing a green/brown cap, navy coat,navy trousers and black shoes. He had a brown walking stick with him.

Officers has been carrying out enquiries to find Mr Dodd.
