Two year old child approached by man in Hartlepool near Stranton Primary School

Police are appealing for information after an unknown man approached a two-year-old-boy near to the rear gate of Stranton Primary school at the junction of Stockton Road and Russell Walk in Hartlepool (adjacent to The 11 O’Clock Shop).

The incident occurred yesterday, 21st January at 3:15pm when the man approached the child and offered him chocolates and sweets which were in his car.

The child’s parent who was tying their own shoelace at the time of the incident took hold of the boy and the man ran off down a nearby alleyway.

No one was hurt from the incident but the parent is very shaken.
The man is described as in his 30s, of skinny build and he was speaking with a foreign accent.
