Lancashire Police have confirmed that Rochdale MP Simon Danczuk has been interviewed over an allegation of rape.

Detectives from Lancashire Police have today questioned the MP over reports of a rape dating back to 2006.

Police have made it clear that he was not arrested and attended a police station Lancashire voluntarily by prior appointment.

However he was interviewed under police caution.

Lancashire Constabulary recieved a report on January 4th 2016 by a woman aged 39 of a historic rape dating back to 2006.
