Attempted murder of Police Officers In Lambeth Three Arrested

Three males have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a vehicle was driven at police officers in Lambeth.

At approximately 19:30hrs on Saturday, 9 January, officers on routine patrols identified the males behaving suspiciously in a car in Plato Road, SW2.

As police officers approached the Citroen C4, the driver – who had been alerted by approaching officers to stop his vehicle – drove recklessly towards the officers on several occasions whilst trying to decamp.

After the car had collided with several parked cars, the 22-year-old driver got out of the car and tried to make off on foot.

However he was detained by the officers in Plato Road, as were the two other occupants of the car.

Searches led to the recovery of a knife from the vehicle and further knives and a small quantity of cannabis from one of the teenagers.

The driver was in possession of around £1,000 in cash and a small quantity of cannabis.

All three males were taken to a south London police station where they remain in custody..
