Shocking Sentence for man who attacked police officer with Claymore Sword

A man who attacked an on duty police officer with a Claymore sword has been jailed for just four years and four months.

He attacked the officer because his father had just been detained by officers.

Jamie Robertson aged just 22 was found guilty of assault and behaving in a threatening manner.

The incident happened outside his home in Gogo Street, Largs, North Ayrshire, on 2 August this year.

Officers had arrested his father after the two had been in an arugument.

He slashed an officer in a rage, armed officers turned up and arrested Robertson.
