A police constable is in a serious but stable condition in hospital after being stabbed while on duty in Tower Hamlets.
Police were called shortly before 23:00hrs on Sunday, 15 November, to reports of anti-social behaviour and a moped being ridden near to flats at Bunsen House, off Grove Road in Bow.
Two officers attended the location. At around 23:30hrs, a male police constable was stabbed in a car park near to Bunsen House.
The officer was taken by ambulance to an east London hospital suffering a stab injury to the abdomen. His condition is described as serious but stable.
A 16-year-old boy was arrested near to the scene a short time after the stabbing and a knife has been recovered. The arrest was on suspicion of attempted murder and the suspect remains in custody at an east London police station.
Nobody else has been arrested in connection with the incident or the earlier anti-social behaviour.
