Police executed search warrant: man pronounced dead during search in Sunderland

An investigation is underway after aman died at an address in Sunderland.
At around 7.30pm this evening (October12) police executed a search warrant at an address on High Street justoff Easington Lane in Houghton-le-Spring.
During the search of the property a43-year-old man who lived at the address became unwell. 
Paramedics were called to the addressto treat the man but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Enquiries are ongoing into the incident and due to the contact between officers and the man the matter will be referred to the IPCC, as is procedure in the circumstances.
