Police have today launched a murder investigation after an on duty police officer was killed in a hit and run.
Police have confirmed it was involved in a vehicle pursuit in Wallasey, Merseyside Police said.
Officers had responded to reports of a burglary at an estate agents in the early hours of this morning.
during the burglary a red Mitsubishi pick-up truck which police located and gave chase.
Officer’s on scene carried out CPR at the scene. The officer sadly died at hospital.
The stolen car was later found abandoned in Corbyn Street, Wallasey.
