A family has been left horrified after their pet cat was killed by a number of youths who attacked it in the street in Hartlepool.
The incident took place between 10.30pm and 10.45pm on Saturday 17th October on Cedar Walk.

A group of four or five male youths repeatedly kicked and jumped on the 16-year-old black cat, named Chico.

It was laid on the floor when a dog that was with the group picked it up and ran off with the cat in its mouth.

The suspects ran off onto Lime Crescent towards Chatham Road.

They are described as aged between 16 and 22 years old, one wore a dark blue or black and white hooded top.

The dog is described as a young white or cream Fox Terrier with curly fur.
