murder investigation has been launched following the discovery of a man’s body in Plumstead High Street.
Police were called by a member of the public shortly before 14:00hrs on Wednesday, 23 September to a report of a man found unresponsive under a bridge at the location near to Plumstead Train Station.
Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service and found the man, aged 32, with serious head injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Next of Kin are in the process of being informed.
The Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating led by Detective Chief Inspector Will Reynolds.
Detectives believe they know the identity of the man but await formal identification.
A post-mortem examination will be carried out in due course.
