Detectives have launched a murder investigation following a shooting in Hackney.
Police were called at 13:14hrs on Saturday, 26 September, to reports of shots fired in Chatsworth Road, E5.
Officers, specialist firearms officers and the London Ambulance Service (LAS) attended the scene and found a 25-year-old man with injuries consistent with being shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Formal identification and a post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.
Next of kin have been informed.
Officers arrested a man in his 20s close to the scene on suspicion of murder. He currently remains in custody at an east London police station.
Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command (HMCC) are investigating.
Local road closures are in place. Enquires continue.
