Detectives are appealing for witnesses and information following the discovery of a body in Regent’s Canal, Islington.
Police were called by a member of the public at 09:07hrs on Wednesday, 24 September, to reports of a body submerged in the canal.
The body, believed to be a man, has now been removed from the canal and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
Officers are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area in recent days.
Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command (HMCC), led by Detective Chief Inspector Rebecca Reeves are investigating.
