Detectives have launched a murder investigation following a stabbing in Hoxton.
Police were called at approximately 23:15hrs on Friday, 4 September to the St John’s Estate on Pitfield Street, N1 following reports of an assault.

Officers attended and found a male, believed to be aged 17, suffering from stab wounds.

London Ambulance Service attended but the male was pronounced dead at the scene at 23:47hrs.

Officers believe they know the identity of the victim and enquiries are underway to inform next of kin.

A post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.

Detective Chief Inspector Andy Partridge from the Homicide and Major Crime Command leads the investigation. He said:

“A young man has lost his life in a brutal manner and I am appealing to anyone who was in the area last night and witnessed this attack to come forward and speak to police.”
