A Sudanese national was arrested just a few kilometres from the entrance of the tunnel on Tuesday.
The 40 year old male of no fixed address is said to have almost succeeded in reaching the British entrance, the same night as 600 migrants attempted to enter the tunnel.
He has been charged with causing an obstruction to an engine or carriage which was using the railway and is due to appear at Medway Magistrates Court on Thursday.
