Police have launched a murder investigation following an assault in Lambeth.
Police were called to Flaxman Road, SE5, at approximately 20:50hrs on Saturday, 8 August to reports of a fight in progress.
Officers attended and found a 17-year-old boy in the street suffering from head injuries.
London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Next of kin have been informed; formal identification awaits.
A post-mortem examination is due to be held at Greenwich Mortuary today, Sunday, 9 August.
An incident room has opened under the Homicide and Major Crime Command.
