Police can confirm that a 7 year old boy has died following a collision in Longtown today (10th August 2015).
Police were called at 3:50pm to the collision, which involved the boy and a tractor, driven by a 58 year old man from the Carlisle area.
The A7, between the A6071 junction and Longtown Bridge, remains closed due to the incident, and will remain closed for some time.
The boy’s family have been informed, and are being supported by specially trained officers.
Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call Cumbria Police and ask for North Roads Policing Unit.
