Some sick individual has decided it was clever to skin a cats tail from the base in Oldham.
The shocking act of cruelty on an animal has left the poor cat in extreme pain and suffering.
Police have now launched an investigation after the sickening attack.
Police gave confirmed that Sometime between 8.30am and 1pm on Wednesday 8 July 2015, the cat was injured before it returned home on Fitton Hill.
The owner, realising her cat was hurt, phoned police.
Now officers are asking for anyone with information to come forward.
Police Constable Mike Healey said: This was a shocking act of cruelty on an animal that had been out before returning home.
“The cat was understandably in a lot of pain and the owner cannot believe someone would have attacked her pet in such a way.
“Due to the level of the injury, we believe someone must have seen or heard something and I would ask those who did, to call police.”
