Police are thanking everyone who attended this year’s Sunderland International Airshow for helping to make it a success.
Around 1,000,000 people visited the Seaburn and Roker areas over the last three days and the event passed smoothly and without major incident.
Officers, working with partners andother emergency services, engaged with members of public throughout the weekend and ensured that everyone had a safe and enjoyable time.
Chief Inspector Sarah Pitt, who was in charge of the policing operation for the event, said: “We are delighted with how the Airshow has gone from a policing perspective and it’s been a really great event to be part of.
Everyone seemed to really enjoy themselvesand the feedback from members of the public about how we policed the event has been fantastic.
“Everyone involved in the running of this event should be really proud of how it’s gone and we’re already looking forward to doing it all again next year”.
