Police release image to track down man who attempted to to sell a baby in a parm

Policehave released the image of a man they would like to speak to following a suspicious incident in the city centre. 

Shortly after 2.30pm on Sunday 12 July 2015, a man with a baby in a pram approached a member of the public in Barton Arcade and is reported to have offered to sell him the baby.
Police have released an image of the man and are now attempting to trace the man.
Sergeant David Henshall said: “This is extremely unusual and at this time we are trying to establish the full circumstances of the situation,but most importantly check on the welfare of the child.
“If anyone recognises the man in the image or has been approachedby him in a similar situation please contact police urgently.”
