Murder Investigation Wrong man & woman targeted in shooting in Haringey

The murder investigation following a shooting in Haringey continues.
At this early stage of the investigation, detectives believe that the two victims were not the intended targets of the shooting, and were likely innocent bystanders that were not known to each other.
Whilst officers believe they know the identity of the 42-year-old man who died, and next of kin have been informed, they await a formal identification.
A post mortem examination took place today, Saturday 11 July and the cause of death was given as a gunshot wound to the chest.
The 51-year-old woman who was taken to hospital remains in a critical condition.
Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command continue to investigate and continue to appeal for witnesses and information.
Police were called at around 17:45hrs on Friday, 10 July to reports of a shooting on Lordship Lane, N22.
Officers, London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended. Two victims – the man and the woman – were discovered suffering from gunshot wounds.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene at 19:05hrs. The woman was taken to hospital where she remains.
